Kindergarten!

Ashlyn started Kindergarten on Monday, August 17th!!

She was getting a excited and also a bit nervous, so we decided we'd try just a half-day instead of the full day....

Storytime Day 1 ("The Kissing Hand"...a perfect story for the 1st day of school!)

Well, next week she'll start full day...per HER request, crying, pouting, and excitement!
Every day when Matt or myself picks her up, she absolutely does NOT want to leave the school for Nothin'! So we convinced her to just finish out the first week at half-day, and if she still wants to stay the rest of the day by the end of the week, we'd let her go full day starting Monday for the rest of the year. She's counting down the days everyday until she gets to go full-day!

We walk to school every morning (even though 88 degrees feels more like 110! LOL!), and the first day mommy and Sierra (and all moms/dads/etc.) were invited to come in and hang out for the first hour and get involved and the kiddos settled. Tuesday...well, Ashlyn took off to the playground and I didn't even have to come in at all. And it's been like that ever since! She's met so many new friends already, and LOVES all the activities she's doing as well!

Practicing the "bell" (she rings a bell and the kids put their things down and face her with their hands up by their face! CUTE!)

Her teacher has given her the nickname "Baby Cakes" apparently, which is too cute.
Today--four days into her first school year--they had school pictures...on the 4th day!! Wow...
So we can't wait to get those!

This is the Kindergartener's playground area. They have a separate gated entrance and playground from the rest of the school...SO AWESOME!

Wow you have kids in school already? You must be old. Speaing of happy belated birthday. Sounds like your going to have it pretty easy with only one kid again for a few hours. Have fun.
