SEVEN!
This year, Ashlyn's birthday fell on a Tuesday. Matt got sent to Tucson, AZ for the week for a Network+ class to get certified for work, so he had to miss being home for her actual birthday. But we were able to Skype with him every morning and evening, and he sang Happy Birthday to her the morning of, so she was all happy. Per her choice, she had me take little Fruit by the Foot snacks to her class to hand out. They all loved it.

That evening, she picked (you guessed it!) McDonald's for dinner and a little playtime. All was good until a little girl had a little tinkle accident on the slide and then proceeded to run around half-naked for 15 minutes in the playplace.... (ewwwwww!) Good thing there was also a TV with different Disney movies playing, because Ashlyn and Sierra were sitting and watching those when that happened (and until we left).
We are going to be having a party for her birthday on Saturday, and then I will have another post with pics on it as well.
On Thursday, I took the girls up to Icing by Claire's to get Ashlyn's ears pierced. She was excited and nervous/anxious, as to be expected. She got all excited, though, when I showed her all the choices for her first earrings set. She picked a "green" flower---it turns out it's more of a teal color---with a clear jewel in the center. She had one of her teddy bears with her, just in case, and she held it tight. But she did just fine, just like she does with shots, too. Just a little flinch, and it was done!
SO PRETTY!

She then coaxed Sierra into hopping up into the chair to get hers pierced as well. She wasn't quite sure if she wanted to or not. But then after a few minutes, she climbed up into the chair and said, "Okay, mom, I'm ready." Silly girl. So she sat there and picked out the plainest silver stud out of all of her choices. Then they got her all prepped and had one lady for each ear, so she wouldn't totally freak out. She sat still until they put the "guns" up to her ears...then she scrunched up and they pierced her ears at the same time. She started to cry....a lot....then I picked her up and she kept saying, "owie, ow, OWIE!" But after a few minutes and showing her all the pretty earrings she'll be able to wear in a few weeks, she calmed down. We paid and left the store and she said to me, "Mom, I was a little nervous." Too cute!
So our girls got their ear's pierced!
They look SO CuTe!!
